THE DAWN OF THE MALLU

I dedicate this blog to the Mallu. He's ubiquitous, omnipresent and omni potent. Basically, a new category of demi-Gods.
Without him, you can't perform any pooja. All necessary items are to be brought from his shop.Without him, your cooking is incomplete, as in any ingredient unavailable in his shop is missing in your dish too. That is the power of the Mallu. While the Sethu still rules the roost, the Mallu is slowing conquering the provision store in your neighbourhood. The Gulf countries owe their prosperity to the discovery of oil and to the diligence of the Mallu.Soon, we will see DHL offering separate shipping and air delivery of Mallus across the globe.
It ain't long before we see the First Mallu President of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. No part of our country is devoid of a tea stall run by a Mallu and no child in this country has not tasted atleast one item from a Mallu's shop. THAT my friend, is the POWER OF THE REACH OF THE MALLU.
The Oxford Dictionary shall include the word Mallu, soon the sensex shall see the trading of Mallus and markets will prosper. Our nation shall be divided into Mallu and non-Mallu.
Next time you come across a Mallu, pause, acknowledge his power, deep breath and give a shout to the man saying, "Wassup Cheta?"

BABY MAHI: SAVED BY THE ARMY, KILLED BY THE MEDIA AND FORGOTTEN BY THE PEOPLE

Yup, I seriously do believe that the contractor who dug the borewell had only a small part in the death of Baby Mahi. The moment news reached the TV channels that a rival channel is covering the news, they all rushed to the spot. As soon as they realised that this wasn't going to end soon, they shifted focus to Salman Khan in Dubai, Bol Bachhan's preview, Euro Cup results and not to forget, the guy who'll decide the menu in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
As for Mahi, "expert" views, novice newsreaders and inexperienced field reporters already declared her dead, long before she was brought out. Their knowledge of  oxygen supply, the hours, the lack of equipment and some supernatural sense that could go to 80 feet in the ground told them on Day 2 that all hope was lost.
The army too must have known its a lost cause. I'm sure the Jawan who first broke the stone that reached Mahi's life sucking tunnel knew from the smell that the baby was already gone. Yet, he continued.
I do not know which journalism college in India gives its students medical knowledge on the human body. Specially bodies stuck below 80 feet. Experience tells us that children survive earthquakes and are often found alive under rubble even after weeks. In Mahi's case, she was 80 feet under the earth, but still, the chances were there.
I take solace in the understanding that like Mata Sita, Mahi too was absorbed by Mother Earth into her arms and she didn't suffer a lot in the deep, hollow darkness.
Rest in Peace Baby girl, and as for the TV channels, Leave them and leave us in peace.

The Second Time

My life has a unique connection to the number 2. Whatever i do the first time, somehow gets lost, stopped or fades away into oblivion. But yes, the memories do remain. The lessons learnt the first time help me to make a better attempt and execute wiser choices the second time. This is the second time i have set up a blog, the first one receiving good reviews.
Whether it's first love, or first jeans, it will always have it's place in my heart. However, in reality, what i can feel and connect to is what i do for the second time. It's just so. I have no logical explanation for it. The second time really sets the stage for future success and achievements.
My second cycle taught me about riding, my second bike helped me to discover an ability within myself i never knew i had. Our second house I love the most, the second time i quit martial arts, i knew i was different and i'm a rule breaker.
This second blog, will be unlike anything you have seen or heard or read. It'll give you my insight on things that concern me, you and the person sitting next to you. Plus the world too.
Here we go..........Godspeed.
